Qualcomm buys Atheros and WiFi integrates into cell phone forever?

As Qualcomm picked up Atheros, the WiFi chipset poster child for $3.1billion, the WiFi in its unending avatars for this decade – its ubiquitousness, its role in Internet of things, its role in off-load, its role in connectivity – only went another step further!!!

With this purchase, Qualcomm not only plugged a hole in its offerings but established to the world that WiFi is the most inevitable aspect of the ‘connected world’. Long live Wi-Fi.
